Sales for the country's biggest carmaker moved up by 4.3 per cent in the domestic market to 37,995 units against 36,415 units in June '04.
On the other hand, declining exports were arrested and the company shipped 3,395 units, a growth of 3,159 units.
However, exports in the first three months of the fiscal (Apr-Jun '05) are still down, dipping 43.7 per cent to 6,893 units against 12,240 units in the same period last year.
The dip in exports also pulled down Maruti's overall sales in the April-June '05 period which saw a marginal 1.4 per cent drop at 1,21,866 units as against 1,23,624 units sold in the same period last year.
However, in the domestic market, the company saw a 3.2 per cent growth in the first three months of the fiscal at 1,14,973 units (1,11,384).
Maruti, which cut the price of the M800 model by Rs 16,000 on June 13, said the model sold 6,387 units in the month, which is 40 per cent down from 10,761 units sold in the same month last year.
The Maruti 800 sales in the three months of the fiscal stand at 19,413 units, down by 39 per cent as compared to 31,874 units in Apr-June '04.
Sales in the A2 segment, where the company sells models like Alto, Zen, WagonR and the newly-launched Swift, saw a 31.6 per cent rise in June at 24,703 units against 18,768 units in the same month last year.
The A2 segment saw numbers rise by 23.3 per cent in April-June '05 period to 73,013 units from 59,201 units in the same period last year.
Mid-size cars Baleno and Esteem saw numbers go up 75 per cent in June at 2,191 units (1,252) even as combined sales of Omni van and Versa fell 8.1 per cent to 4,492 units (4,888) in the month.
MUV's Gypsy and Vitara also saw dip in numbers which fell 70 per cent to 222 units against 746 sold in June '04.
