There were sparks of brilliance in Lagaan, Monsoon Wedding, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Dil Chahta Hai and Gadar-Ek Prem Katha. But Yaadein, Nayak and Abhay proved to be big disappointments.

But Bollywood came a long way this year as we rubbed shoulders with the best in International cinema at many a prestigious film festival.
