Bollywood actor-turned MP Raj Babbar, who fell out with the Samajwadi Party long ago after getting elected on its ticket from Agra, is tipped to be the Congress candidate from North Mumbai in place of actor MP Govinda.

Though Babbar sought the Congress ticket from the nearby Fatehpur Sikri constituency to benefit from a lot of work he has done in Agra, he is having second thoughts as he fears the Samajwadi Party will work against him.

Sources in the AICC said the Mumbai Congress has forwarded Babbar's name for North Mumbai, pointing out Govinda has hardly done any work in the constituency. They say he did not even regularly attend the Lok Sabha to get a second term.

Others list for the North Mumbai seat are Mumbai Congress chief Kripashankar Singh, a former Maharashtra minister and Shiv Sena defector Sanjay Nirupam.
